Violin Lab Relaunch

How does the new ViolinLab work?

If you were a subscriber of the previous ViolinLab.com website, see the information below for guidance on the new features of the updated site.

What stays the same?

Content: All lesson content and memberships have been transferred to the new site. Every lesson from the old site is here and in the same sequential order as before.

Membership Rates: Your membership and subscription rates have also been migrated. No action required.

Account data: Your username and email address have been migrated.

What changed?

Log in: Your username is still the same. However you will need to reset your password when you log in for the first time. You will receive an email with a link to do the reset.

PLEASE NOTE In case no email address is connected to your account, please contact us. We will add your email to the system. After that you can reset your password.

Community data: For technical reasons it wasn’t possible to move the data from the community forum to the new site, however we have a brand new Community page.

Practice organizer: the practice organizer has been transformed. Now, you will have the ability to take and save notes for each lesson. Unfortunately, practice organizer data could not be transferred.

Why the relaunch?

After 15 years of working with a custom PHP framework we moved ViolinLab to WordPress, a well known Content Management System.

The goal was to modernize Violin Lab’s exceptional learning environment, making it easier to navigate and allowing for future innovation.

How to send a video

Send in a video and get feedback and practice recommendations on your technique and repertoire skills. You will get a video response within 2 to 3 business days after submission.
All videos are private and not shared with the community. Video Exchange is available with our Premium Plan.

Common Questions

For active members at the time of the switchover, there is no need to renew. If your previous membership had expired, you will need to resubscribe.

When you login in for the first time on the new site you will need to choose a new password. Your user name stays the same. Just click on Log In and click “Forgot password” at the bottom of the login form link. Follow the instructions.

The Practice Organizer has been revamped. On every lesson page is a “Notes” button where you can take notes, make comments, or write a reminder. Once saved, it will appear on your My Notes page, accessible via a drop down menu on the menu bar under Violin Courses.

Sadly, we couldn’t save the community pages. We are starting fresh with a new software.
You might want to edit your profile. You can choose a nickname, a profile photo and a cover photo. You can configure here how you want to be notified about the activity in the community.
