Well,  I got my copy of Franz Wohlfahrt FOUNDATION STUDIES FOR THE  VIOLIN: BOOK 1.   Wow 60 first position studies (from Opp. 45,54,74)

tap, tap, tap....where to begin.... i guess page 1

Beth, where is the best place to start?
Any suggestions?

The Folk Song
Day 4 of my violin journey ! I'm absolutely in love with this instrument.
Being watching my bow hand in the mirror to stop it from rocking side to side. Its still very hard to maintain perpendicular to the strings but its better than 2 days ago. (At least its no longer scratchy) Intonation is also very tricky, I'm trying to fix it as soon as I hear it gone wrong but sometimes I dont know until I play the open string.

Would appreciate any comments or feedback !
Thanks everyone,

Hi everyone,

I'm an absolute newbie who only picked up a violin for the first time 2 days ago! I've always wished I had picked this up when I was a kid but have finally decided that its now or never. Feeling really excited to be on this journey with you all !

Timothy Smith
Stella's Waltz
I heard this song and fell in love with it because according to the author, when he was a child, soon after his grandmother departed this earth, she came to him in a dream and they danced together. This is the music he heard in the dream.
Issues I am working on correcting-
- that 4th finger Eb on the A string isn't on target. Intonation in general needs work.
- Some cross string noise
- Probably the most annoying thing though is when I move up the 6 16th notes. I only seem to get maybe 4 on on one bow. The whole thing seems off and is throwing my timing off.
I need some way to more smoothly get across those 16th notes. Suggestions welcome! How would you transition 16th notes on one bow? What bow techniques do you use?
Here is a link to the Stella's waltz in pdf format. can be downloaded if you wish to look it over or try playing it.

Nena- 648 Practice on lower string, smooth legato bowing and recovering sustained vibrato

This was morning of Thursday practice...Late posting.

Great feeling to practice outside on the deck with nature but it's harder to do it because there's no flowing air that day and way too much moisture making the bow hair and strings kind of difficult to bow and coax more sound and be responsive...

It was hard, I found out to transition from Adante to Adagio/Grave or much slower tempo...It takes sometime to rebuild my stamina, I did not quite get it back my arms, fingers and muscles gets tired easily and would not cooperate.

Thank and gudnite...
