Thanks for these excellent lessons! Very informative and concise. However, I have a quick question: How much discomfort, particularly in the jaw and collar bone, is "normal" for beginners? I ask because I am experiencing quite a bit of pain in these areas after 2 practices. The back edge of my violin (a Yamaha SV-130) digs into my collar bone and the chin rest, which is unfortunately neither adjustable nor replaceable, digs into... something (lymph glands?) under my jaw. Is this something I'll just get used to, or do I need to start shopping for a new violin?
