Dear Kalluraya, Here is a video response to your question about how to use the thumb with finger motion. I hope it helps... Feel free to post any further questions you may have... Thank you! Krista Broadway Swider

Hi Beth, I a having trouble getting this finger motion. Specifically what should be the thumb motion be like? When I try to do the circles as you demonstrate in the video does the thumb get straighter? or should the thumb stay bent and not move at all? My thumb is getting straighter as I do the circles!

Do you have any additional exercises or hints on what exactly I'm supposed to feel on my hand? This motion/flexibility looks very easy on the video, but it has been the hardest exercise to get a feel for it. I can make the pinky push the bow down, but then the bow moves toward the bridge and thus is no longer perpendicular. I'm sure one of these days the light will come on, but thus far it's pretty dark :-)

this had me approaching the frog more confidently almost immediately---give also that I use a Russian bow hold. Neat stuff.
