caurus - I wouldn't know by your relaxed smile that you're a clencher! Another suggestion - breath! We tend to hold our breath because we have the violin up against our neck. Breath past it all the way to your diaphragm. Another tip is to sit up high on a table or counter top so that your feet dangle and can't push against the floor and get tight. Keep us posted!

I'm a nervous clincher - I mean my TOES ache when I'm done practicing, and the tips of my fingers are so SORE! I'll let you know after a week of incorporating these very good suggestions, how the work for me. Thanks so much Ms. Allen.
