Hi Beth

I am a relative newbie to the site and I have observed several times that people have problems downloading lessons or files. I think they are referring to opening up the videos and watching them, perhaps?  I have found sometimes I am having problems myself with the videos not starting but I have discovered there is an easy fix to this problem. This is what I have discovered - select the video you want to view and instead of pressing the play button straight away wait about 30 seconds. This allows the file to start downloading then hit the play button and the video will then start playing. It works every time, well almost unless there are other problems in phone lines etc. I am sure many people may already know about this, and I am sure you may have mentioned it, but I thought I would point it out for the new viewers. Hope this helps the folks out there!! By the way, I am eagerly watching the lessons and learning a lot - thanks.

Thanks Beth for clearing up the confusion. Just one thing though, the waiting 30 seconds may vary from person to person depending on their computer, router, internet connection etc. The 30 second wait before pressing play seems to work for me!! One needs to experiment.

Eileen and Linda,  both things are going on, actually. Some have trouble viewing because their internet connections are a little slow, and others are wanting to download to their computers. Linda, that's a great tip, and I will use it when advising emailers. As for the others, I don't really want people to download the content, although for some, internet view costs are extremely high, and this is the only way they can afford to watch the videos.

Well OK. If it is about downloading to ipods or computers I have totally lost the plot, LOL. However, IF the problem is with the lesson not playing when you select it and hit the play button straight away, then waiting the 30 seconds still applies, and it works!! Confused? Me too!!

Hi Linda,

I think what folks are trying to do is download the video to their computer/ipod...whatever...so that they can just click on it and play it without having to login here.    At least I "think" that's what the issue is...I could be wrong.
