I thought I would introduce myself to the community.
I started playing the viola two weeks ago and having terrorising/tortured the entire household, I thought it was time to look somewhere for some lessons!
The videos have been very helpful so far, and I looking forward to getting to know you all, and to improve my playing.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
At the minute I am only managing to practise for about 10 minutes a day so I'm thinking it's going to take a while to sto squawking! ;o)

But I know from learning the banjo earlier this year that it is amazing how your brain learns while you are away from the instrument, and the next day when you return you are already just that little bit better.

So for the minute I'm just concentrating on getting my bowing sorted and taking my time. There is no rush after all.

Welcome to Violin Lab Andrea

Hey Andrea, don't be too hard on yourself, two weeks is not a long time so you are allowed to 'terrorise' the family at this stage :D LOL ;)

But soon you'll surprise them all and they'll be 'begging for more' :)

Welcome onboard, there's no looking back now!

ps nice to have a viola player amongst us!

Hi Andrea,
Welcome to Violin Lab. I'm a new member too and I'm finding it an excellent supplement to my weekly 'real life' lesson. Good luck with the viola (the 'big boy violin') and be assured that if you a. enjoy it, b. spend loads of time practising with it and c. enjoy it some more, then you're bound to be successful with it.

Warm welcome to you..

Welcome Andrea !

I know what you mean about torturing the family...haha  Don't worry, persevere and you'll get past that !   Beth is a wonderful teacher and has put together a fantastic site for violin/viola learners.   Go through those videos, hang tight and bribe the family any way you can to hold them off for a bit longer....lol.   x-D

Hi Andrea, Welcome! I'm so impressed that you are finding time for yourself and taking on the "journey".  From your avatar picture, I bet your life is full and busy.  Your daughters look adorable. I have two daughters too.  Everyone on this site is supportive and collectively we are a wonderful source for help.
