I frequently need to stop Beth's videos, go back and replay parts. I've seen musicians using pedals to page thru music score ... I wonder if the type of videos we get from ViolinLab can also be controlled by foot.

I am using an iPad Pro while using ViolinLab, but any Bluetooth pedal for PC or Mac should also work for iPad.

Thank you, Jorge. I appreciate that you're appreciating the details :)

Another option is to pause the video and add notes underneath the player. You can add your own reminders and notes. (Once clicked they go to the Practice Organizer).

I haven't checked out the settings on the Vimeo website in a while, I 'll see if there are options to have a play button.

Dear Jorge

When my teacher is teaching me a new technique I very often come in the following lesson with my camera and ask my teacher to do a "show" and teach the thing again in detail. Then I can watch it again and again. But this I do not on every lesson but just strategic new stuff.

Foot pedal playback vs. speed control
Thank you Beth,

Yes, Iíve used the speed control and it helps.

It's not su much that I have trouble understand you, in fact I am impressed as to how great you are as a speaker, and the attention to the detail you include in your conversations.

The challenge I face is during Tutorials like (Schindlerís List), where you show more than one way how to play a part, the original Perlman's, immediately followed by how you would play it yourself. I find it interesting that you present both, but my brain needs to forget one and follow the other.

Once of the reasons I prefer ViolinLab to taking lessons with a teacher, is that I can re-play as much as I want until I feel completely satisfied. I frequently go back to very early videos and play them over-and-over, never get tired.

Jorge, did you know there is speed control in the little setting icon on the video players? There are a few old players that may not have it, but most do.

So if you're having trouble understanding me, you could slow down the speech.

I wish the players had a rewind button as well!
