This discussion includes members-only video content Hello Beth and everyone, This is my first post so I'll start with a little introduction. I've been wanting to improve on the violin after playing it on and off over the years, and so I started practicing more regularly from the beginning of this year. One of the pieces which I practiced before and am learning again now is Oskar Rieding's Violin Concerto #2 op.35 1st movement. Here's my video. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks, Lesley. I'm still developing my vibrato. Thank you so much for the video response, Beth! I did notice that my intonation slipped off track around the middle of the piece. I'll start working on all the points you mentioned. |

Really clear beautiful tone and a lovely vibrato -- very impressive! Please post lots more videos! |

Thank you, Elke, for the explanation and for the screenshot. Ray, I look forward to learning and sharing my progress. Dianne, although I first learned to play the violin as a child, and then took lessons and practiced on and off as an adult, I'd say that I've only played for a total of a few years. Keeping the bow straight and playing all the way to the tip of the bow is definitely something I'd like to improve on. |

Welcome! You seem like you have been playing for a long time. Everything looked perfect, maybe reach out with the bow a little more when playing at the tip. |

First of all: Welcome to the Community pages, Melodia :)! About your bookmark question: Beth mentioned the other day that that is on her list. The bookmarked pages cannot be accessed at the moment. But that feature will come back. About the embedding: You embedded the link to the video, not the video itself. On the main Community page there is a link "How to embed your videos". You did embed what you shared. This means that even though it is just a link, it is not visible unless you are logged in. So that is good. But it would be easier for us as Community members to watch if you embedded the video, not just the link. For that you need the embed code of the video. On my browser the sharing option in Youtube looks different than what Beth shared in the explanation video. When I click on "Share" I get the screenshot from below. The embed code appears when you click on the button I have framed in red in the image. |

Thank you, Beth! It's good to know that my form and technique are correct. Looking forward to your video response. Thank you for the nice welcome, Karen. I have a technical question. I noticed that there's a link instead of a video in my post, and I'm wondering how I should upload a link so that it will appear as a video in my post? Also, when I bookmark a discussion, where do I go to see a list of what I bookmarked? |

Wow, Melodia! Your technique looks amazing! I can tell how careful you are with form when you practice. It sure has paid off! I'll make a video response soon. |
