Hello everyone, I am new here I am uploading this video because I am here to learn. I took a few classes in the past but I am too poor to afford violin classes let's hope I can find a lot of advice here

Hola Stravinsky hermoso sonido bien amplio y me gusta tu vibrato se lo ve y escucha suelto. Gracias por compartir tu práctica

Hi Stravensky! By sheer chance, I just happened to come across the wonderful violin documentary by Richard Senecal featuring... you! It is a truly lovely film and I'm sure everyone here would enjoy it as much as I did. Would you mind if I posted the link?

I was so focused on the fabulous sound, regularity, relaxation and width of the left hand fingers, that I didn't think of the independence of the right hand. I found the Twinkle variations very helpful for this.

Beth,

That was a wonderful class: concise, easy, direct, and, oh miracle of all the gods, I understood everything!!!

Congrats.

Welcome!

I am also a learner here so I am no expert on vibrato. Nice tone on your violin!
I liked your vibrato.
Question for more experienced players-Should we allow for variations in vibrato depending on the material we play?

Very nice vibrato! Your bowing technique looks and sounds good, too. You have a polished sound.

Dear Stravensky

Well done with your vibrato. And it is even continuous vibrato. All that is missing is the G string. It gets harder to do vibrato on the G string.

Do you read sheetmusic or do you play by ear? You have good intonation but say you have only had a few lessons. I take it you are mostly self taught.

Work youself through the lessons and then post a song if you can. Post early on (you do not have to be perfect) so you can get help before you ingrain bad habbits. It is easier to learn it right straight away then having to realearn something.

Again, congratulations to your really good vibrato. I am looking forward to your next video.

Wow, this looks like some very nice vibrato, Stravensky! Congratulations and welcome to the community forum! You found a great place to get help even if you don't have a local teacher. There are a number of us around here in a similar situation - some for financial reasons, others because there just is no teacher anywhere close.

Have you seen the Resources section? There is a Syllabus which will help you progress even without a local teacher. From what you showed in the video it wasn't very obvious at what stage you are in general :) - but looking at the Syllabus will give you an idea of where to continue with your learning.

Dear Stravensky

In order for us to be able to see the video you need to make it "unlisted" instead of "private". Then only members can see you.

Welcome to the site and have a look at "Resources" for a plan to follow for your violin lessons online.
