Question...

Today, I practiced etude all in 3rd position, initially it has numbers on top of all of the notes for finger placement but as it progresses the numbers disappears and would only appear on notes to landmark changes. Also the notes were arranged like a ladder up and down then it changes and jumps so you don't just play like a robot. I like the challenge and makes you think and remember the notes itself ... I can almost picture them from my head, need to practice more!

Here's a question not related to my etude practice...

How and what are the rules when a piece transitions to a different without stopping and maintaining the continuous flow of the music. No abrupt stop when the key changes to totally different one

In my short violin practice I have encountered pieces that changes to a different key but not inter-connectedly flowing piece like the one I encountered just now.

Here's the piano version I used to do aural practice and learn to harmonize...The pianist improvised here and was using combination minor 6th ascending and descending which I need to know with your help...

I just found out that it uses minor 6th descending/ minor 6th ascending...

Can someone please explain it to me?

Thank you

I forgot...

Here's the piece I was talking about...I used for my aural practice how to harmonize along on already totally well composed piece.

This was composed by Francis Lai and  all of you are most likely familiar with this "Love Story/Where Do I Begin"
