Hi all,
inspired by a post of Ayoub, I found this sheet music on YouTube : two violins, a viola, a cello and a bass part. I skipped the viola and played the two violin parts, the cello part and the bass part (the last one also on cello).
Hope you will all enjoy it...
Thanks ViolinLab, thanks Beth, thank you al... and happy new year, full of beautiful music!!!

Maria just thinking. I wonder if you could improvise as you do so well with this or maybe it would be too much as sounds beautiful with all the different instruments. Just thinking beyond my understanding

That is beautiful.  Thank you for sharing Frieda. And to have such talent and focus to play other instruments is neat.

Frieda, I very much enjoyed your piece.

I'm brand new to the violin and am loving it.

I am also going to learn the cello -- in fact, my cello is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Do you have any advice for me on learning the cello at the same time as the violin?

Thank you so much, Frieda!

Dianne, I know... As much we would like to but the violin keeps us occupied, don't worry one of these days we will find time to learn it.

My cello 7/8 bow hair are thinning, one day when I'm ready I'll send it to Ray to have it re-haired!

Happy 2019!
I've been with Vlab for 6 years now, how time flies!

After long hibernation of attending lessons, today I called my ultimo teacher for decades and asked her to help me refine/correct my Ave Maria...

Hi all, thanks for listening and your replies.
Lee, I took screen shots with my ipad of the sheet music I found.
And here is the link... https://youtu.be/Pt9Ebte9bXk
I also used the audio for my recordings... Good luck!

Really nice Frieda! I could hear each instrument clearly and they blended well. Just a beautiful sound. Janice you mention the year of expansion. It does seem that some people are picking up or returning to multiple instruments! Maria, my cello sits all ready to go. I started it, but then got immersed back into orchestra music. Now I am back on track for regular practice sessions on violin during the break. We start orchestra again in a few days, and I would like to keep that music in the "New repertoire" section. But cello, it will have to wait. I did make progress on it though. I learned how to position the cello, posture of the left hand, how to hold the bow, how to read the sheet music open strings, and how to play a 1 octave major scale. That's it!

Very nice, Freda. You said you found the sheet music on YouTube...do you mean you downloaded some actual music to play from? If so, could you share a link to it? I've always loved this piece and would like to learn it. Thanks!

Beautifully rendered Frieda, a lovely, lovely piece...

Such talent you have able to play the cello as well, it's a dream of mine also but right now my cello Consuelo sleeps on the loveseat while still busy learning the violin...

Happy New year to you and everyone!

So Creative! and such a lot of effort, thank you. It shows how wonderful this music can be when it is broadened out with other instruments. This has to be the year of expansion.....

Freda, you're a one woman string ensemble!! How impressive and what a great outcome. That was a wonderful rendition!
