Hello, everyone. I played the twinkle twinkle little star and the french folk song . Here I embed three videos . The first is little star with whole bow and the second is the french folk song, the last one is also little star but with different ryhthm. And I have several questions.
1. Is my upper arm move incorrectly? It slightly move even when I just use my middle bow ,I think? I am not sure.
2.After I made the video and watch it I found that in the french folk song video ,I am not taking the rythm correct because it should be like 1 2 3, 1 2 3 ,1 2 3, 1 2 3 and mine is actually 1 2 3, 1 2 3 , 1 2 3, 1 2.(I hope I can be understood . Sorry if I make confusion.)
3. in the french folk song ,when I played on D string ,I heard some noise ,not that I played two strings at the same time but is like bad chalk on the blackboard ,not solid and not comfortable noise.(Sorry again if I make confusion. You can just skip this one.)
4. When playing little star with the rhythm of “titititi-titititi”,I cannot really handle that . It is too fast for me. Is that just need more practise or is there anything wrong ?
5. Is there anything else that is not correct?
Thank you so much, learning violin is just like a painter drawing a picture ,a very precise work while enjoying the process. I like violin. But I have a lot to do ,that is okay because I have a whole life to do that . Just feel very happy to have violin with me .

Have a nice day.

I am so sorry that I cannot embed the video again . I have tried twice but it showed some ads instead of my video . I don't know why. Here I can only take give you the likage. I hope it doesn't trouble you too much . Thank you . http://www.bilibili.com/video/av31424156

Thank you ,Elke. You are right !My back and neck do feel pain when I play  in just a short time ,and I think it is because my neck is not nod but tilt. And thanks for your kindness of willing to embed for me .

Thank you ,Beth, I will go and watch the video of fast bow . I would try to be relax when I play twinkle twinkle :)

Love you. ❤️❤️Thanks for your advice.

Very nice playing, Eilleen!  I agree that your long straight bow strokes are impressive. You're control is quite good. I notice that on many of the strokes, the right hand stays loose and I can see the flexing and bending of the pinky when you're at the frog. On other strokes the hand looks tighter. In general your hand was more relaxed in French Folk Song than in Twinkle.

You're also doing a good job with the fast Twinkle rhythm, but I think you'll be able to handle it much easier if your shoulder and wrist were more relaxed. Also remember, you can use smaller bow strokes which will help with the speed.  You're probably not to this video yet, but go ahead and watch it as I think it will help a lot with those fast bow strokes.

Here are a couple of comments, Eilleen:

I really like how you use the bow - from one end to the other. That is really impressive. And I did not see a problem with your arm. Actually, I thought, you worked from the elbow in a rather impressive way. Also you have very good intonation.

The one thing where I see a very big problem (but one very easy to fix) is how you hold your head. Having the head tilt sideways as you do will give you neck pain in a very short time. You should just turn your head slighty  and nod (not tilt it, that is not bending it toward the violin). The little nod then makes your jaw rest on the violin.

One more thing about embedding: if you cannot get a working embed code from your side, you could just email me the link to the video (2007elke@gmx.de) and I could mail you back a working embed code, which you could then insert with your post.

Eilleen, embedding works from my side, so here are the videos embedded for easier access.
