I finally did it!

Got my practice done this morning, then I took my violin to the Doctor. lol
I'm getting new strings put on along with a violin check-up with EKG and all. :-)

The Luthier will also put parchment on the bridge where the E-string is trying to burrow through like a rabbit. I won't have it back for a full day (to give time for the glue to set), but I should be good to go tomorrow evening. Just in time for practice time. I don't know that I will play any better, but I do hope that the sound will be definitely improved :^p

Yeah, I have a luthier in mind who did a "fabulous" job putting the neck back on my violin after it had hit the floor...after whacking the side of my piano on the way down... x-o But she's over an hour away and not sure how much it would cost.

As long as it's playing well and there aren't any major problems I'll most likely put it off.

I got my baby back and it's all shiny and perdy . . . LOL

I haven't tried it yet, but I will as soon as I get home. . . . . If I can wait that long.

Emg, if you have a Luthier close by, often times, they can do the work on the same day, so if you drop it off in the morning you can pick it up in the afternoon. It's definitely worth it.

It's nice to get your instrument back from the luthier all nipped and tucked Jack ! Enjoy trying it out when you get it back !

Mine really needs a new nut and probably needs the finger board properly gone over, but....it still sounds really nice so I haven't had any incentive to get it done. One of these days I'd like to take mine in for a good "check up" though...
