I love the idea about the "drones" It may help me.....I have very little hearing left in my right ear and it's very hard for me to tune to another instrument or source because I don't hear the "source" very well, I just hear a lot of "me". Nobody wants to sit and "drone" for me long enough for me to "get" the note and I only have an "A" drone on my metronome. Usually I ask my worship leader to listen to my A for me and let me know where it's at, then I tune the rest. Anyway ! Looking forward to this Beth !! Another thing, I love the little theory blurbs I get from watching your videos. There was another vid you posted where you were explaining intervals and tuning. I always perk up when I hear theory blurbs ! :-)

Beth...I LOVE theory blurbs. I have no background whatsoever in music and am learning as I go along. I have a handicap in that math concepts are extremely difficult for me to visualize and comprehend and music is so mathematical. I get very lost in the swirls of scales/keys/minor/major/half steps/whole steps...yada yada....it all just gets tangled up in my thought processes and ends up a big ugly mess of confusion. I want to understand it though to be a better all around musician....so YES ! Please do continue to add those gems in, even if it seems simple and obvious. Each time you explain a bit of theory it helps to untangle some of that mess for me. Maybe someday it will sink in ! :-)

Good to know you like theory blurbs. I'll take more time to explaining those kinds of things as they come up. As for the drones, I'm launched on a theory that practicing with a 5th drone will be better, more effective, and more rewarding than practicing with a single note drone. At least it is for me! I was practicing with it and the subtle harmonies that emerge are fun and beautiful. I have a drone ready to post, but alas, another techno problem loading large audio files to servers. So I'm going to load it in to my video software and post is as a video lesson. I'll give you a heads' up, via members' news reel when I get it up.

BTW....this is in response to the interview with Colleen where you were discussing intonation. :-)
