Hey everyone, this somewhat unorganized video response to Joe's post is about the importance of feeling the sub-pulses in the music we're playing. The technique for practice I'm demonstrating is a good one. It's difficult and confusing to do at first, but worth trying if you want to improve your rhythm.

Thank you Beth. That technique of subdividing the beats mentally works great for sight reading too.

Hi Beth, thank you for this video.  Is it possible for you to post the background music being played so that we can all use it to practice to ?

BETH,  FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAVE AN ''INCOMPLETE' IN MUSIC CLASS...AND NO TEACHER TODAY, YOUR VIDEO GIVES A HUGE LESSON IN TIMING AND PLAYING A PIECE AS THE COMPOSER MUST HAVE 'HEARD' IT .......IT IS APPRECIATED !!!

I'll periodically bump this up so new comers can watch the videos since I don't have it in the library.
