Definitely get to the next workshop if you can Candace !   I just can't say enough about the 2012 event.....lots of great memories and I have to say...that after spending a week with a bunch of violin geeks like myself and all the encouragement that was given all around....I saw a big improvement in my playing from that time on.

Here's a link of some pics and vids from the 2012 was a blast !  :-)

Hi Candace,
I can only echo what Diane has said - the VL Workshop 2012 was one of the most enjoyable few days I've had - well worth making the trip across 'the pond' for.
If it happens again in 2014 I'm in!

And for those of us at home who couldn't make the trip to Austin  ---  Al did an absolutely phenomenal streaming video of various workshops -  I was glued to my computer for several days.

It's great to hear Beth and Al are considering another in 2014!

And, Welcome Candice, Violin Lab is a wonderful place.

Hi might be referring to a Workshop that Beth conducted last July, 2012 at her and her husband, Al's shop....Blackerby Violin Shop in Austin, Texas.  It was a 5 day workshop and one of the best that I have ever attended and I go to multiple workshops and camps.  There is not one scheduled for this year, but maybe (maybe?) Beth will consider doing another one next year.  We had about 25 adult, violinist (and fiddlers..L <:) with varying skill levels from the US, Canada and the UK....the skill level was from an absolute beginner to more intermediate levels.  It was an awesome week...right everyone?, one that I will never forget...the people, the place and hosts, the teachers, the house mates, the music, all the instruments, the kindness and thougtfulness of the violin shop staff...did I mention Austin? What a great play.  We all went home with increased skills and smiles!!
I hope there will be another was awesome.   Thank you Beth and Al!!!
Stay tuned. Diane in SoCal

Hi Cnadace,

Lat summer we hosted a workshop for VL members here in Austin. The next Workshop (still tentative) will be in  June of 2014. As soon as I have the dates confirmed, I'll let everyone know by re-installing the workshop page, which will be visible on the menu bar.   Thanks for asking!
