Is anyone else as excited as I am  about the workshop?  I think i'm obsessed!

I have a question for Beth.  Would it be possible to rent a violin while we're there?  I really don't want to take my violin on a plane. I'm afraid it will get damaged or lost or won't fit.  I'm thinking of baggage fees, too.

I'm hoping other people want to "go in" on one of the houses.  That's a great thing if we can all ride together and save renting a car.  I can't wait to meet everyone.

Is anyone else coming in on the 6th ?   I had to make my flight a day earlier than the house is available.   I'm looking at some hotels by the airport and thought if there were others coming in that day it would be nice to meet up, maybe book rooms in the same hotel.

Gads, this is going to be a blast !

Roby....you're something else !

Beth told me what you offered to do and I am just beside myself and don't know WHAT to say to that......  <:-o

After discussing it with my husband.....we're now in the midst of planning his trip to Florida with the kids...and his mom.   If he goes to Florida....I will be coming down to Austin !  x-)

But at this point....with all the highs and lows I've been through this past month concerning this......as I put it to Beth in my email response.......I'll know for certain I'm going when I have those plane tickets in my hot and eager hands.....and not before !   <:-\

But I will let you know....when I do !   ;-)

Lol Beth....I would be  happy to sleep at the shop if that's all that's available....I'd sleep in the CAR !

I guess we still have time to work things out but now he's saying we can't afford it......I'll see how much I can sell at the coral frag market this month.  I'm closing down a tank and have some coral and live rock to off load.   I'm always hopeful ....just a bit down about it right now.   <:-(

The way i read that is, you may count it as a carry on or checked baggage.  That doesn't mean it's free.  I think you can only have carry on so i hope your purse fits in it.  Otherwise you might have to check it (for $50 or pay for an extra carry on).  if I'm wrong, and i hope I am, i'd consider taking mine with me.  I won't check it as baggage- i have a soft-ish case- but i would certainly put it in the overhead if they allow me my camera bag as well.

Eileen!! I was looking forward to meeting you. Aw, if you can find a way, please come!
I've booked my flights now (which cost about a million pounds, but hey). I'm hoping British Airways and American Airlines will let me take my fiddle on as hand luggage - I'll check nearer the time.
Really looking forward to the week!
Ian

I'm sorry to hear it, Eileen. There will always be a spot for you, even if you have to sleep at the shop!

eh.....he's too big to fit under the seat....

We made a mistake on our dates.  We were sure that the week of our time share was the week "after" the workshop  They list the weeks in week numbers, ours is the 27th week of the year *gads how silly is that ?*.........turns out it's the same week.   My husband did not get a vacation last year because he was taking care of his parents.  His dad was very sick..in fact, we buried him the end of July.    Soooooooo....if anyone is going to go on vacation this year it'll be my husband.  BUT...we're in the middle of this who's going thing....he says he's not going because he knows I want to go to this "thing"....and I'm not going to this "thing" if he doesn't go to Florida because that would just be so selfish..........yada yada....

Just a lot of drama going on here right now and I'm getting tired of the ups and downs of it all.   so Beth....don't save me a spot.   I'll get there if I can, but I may not and I don't want anyone else to loose out on my account.   <:-(

Yes Karen, you could certainly rent a violin, but I think you'd be missing yours.

Jim:

When playing “Twinkle, Twinkle“, don’t underestimated yourself, because when somebody ask you -What are you going to play? You can proudly answer: Mozart

Yes, Karen, I am excited about the workshop, and am interested in the housing.  I just joined ViolinLab at the first of this year, and am only just beginning to look beyond Twinkle, twinkle.  I hope that fits in.

You could share a bed, most are queen sized.  I don't think it would matter much if it's co-ed as long as there were separate rooms.  (don't let me put words in anyone's mouth)
