Last year, on my 40th birthday I impulsively bought an old violin shape object while sitting at a coffee shop for $60.  After messing with it for a few days, I decided to get help from the internet and stumble into a link @ violinlab.com.  Here is me with the $60 violin at the 1 year mark, pretending to play a piece of music.  I am now in the process of buying a better (intermediate range) violin.  Hopefully I will sound better at the 2 years mark.

Haha, everyone jumping straight to Schindler's list! I think your playing is impressive for such a piece at the 1 year mark. All those shifts and vibrato all while using the whole bow and keeping it straight. Bravo!

Obviously I need a lot of work on intonation and now because I recorded myself playing, I can clearly see that my bow arm need a lot more wrist flexibility.  It seems that I tried to compensate by making too big of an arc with my arm and shoulder.  Wow, if I did not record this, I probably will never recognize the problem.  Thank you everyone for the kind comments

I think that sounds pretty darned good, plus it was played with great feeling.  I hope to sound that good after one year, just taking up the violin three months ago.  Keep up the good work!
