Hi Everyone, I am new at ViolinLab but finding it very helpful.  I am a beginner but having a lot of fun.

However, I have a question about the Finger positions for Meditation from Thais and tried to find something on this Community Discussion section but there are so many postings and no apparent categorization of posts to narrow down the search from the very large data base developed.  I have the sheet music from the Resources section but finding it a bit confusing.  Maybe there is a way to find a "subject"  which I had to submit to ask a question to narrow down my search but I can not find any way to search subject.  Any helpful references would be much appreciated.

Welcome Dennis from Canada,

Have you had a chance to look at Beth's extensive videos on Meditation.  You probably but if not (don't want to assume) they can be found here:  numbers276 - 289.   Looking forward to hearing and watching your audio or video postings.

Welcome Dennis
Hi.  One idea for you would be to take a private lesson with Beth for this piece your working on.  On the top of your home page is live violin class or you can contact Beth directly by clicking on About US and Contact.  Good luck.  Post often and show us how your doing...we love to see how other people are progressing as it give the Community inspiration.
Stay tune. Diane in SoCal

Thanks Elke. I will look again and ask for help again if I can't find the fingering detail I am looking for.

Welcome, Dennis, to the community pages :). There is lots on the Meditation. On the Video Lesson Library tab just enter "Meditation" in the search field above the video list and it comes up with a whole slur of tutorials for this one piece, starting at video #276.

You are very brave if you want to tackle the Meditation as a beginner! So I guess even though you call yourself a beginner you have mastered vibrato and playing in very high positions. Good luck and enjoy this beautiful piece!
