My very favorite violinist has posted a new piece (well, I guess it was her mother...): Csardas by Monti. I have been following her since she was four. She is seven now and I am just amazed when I watch her playing. The audio in this one is not so very good, but still you can see what incredible coordination she has between left and right hand even in the very fast sections. And for a long time I have marveled at her tone: consistent over a whole bow stroke, from the tip to the frog! And she produces this kind of music on a 1/4 violin! Just amazing! I wish I could express a piece as well on my full size violin!

And if you want to see something really heart warming, go to their Youtube channel and watch her recital after finishing Suzuki 1 when she was 4 years old :) :)

Elke! thanks for the post! Leila sure is a prodigy! If you been watching her since her earlier years, its like almost becoming a family member, watching her grow musically! Thank you for sharing and best wishes on your choice for the masterclass! I am sure you will do SUPERB! :0)

I love how Leila can express herself with the violin! You cannot see it very well in this video, she is too far away. But in some of the other ones that she did within the last year you see this content smile when a part of the music comes that is especially beautiful. And yet, she seems to be a child through and through. That is very nice to watch.

Laura, my favorite rendition of La Cinquantaine - apart from Leila of course :) - is by Bernard Chevalier. It is such a joyful piece! So far I am not getting tired of it, even though it needed (and still needs) so much work.

Oh this little girl is just amazing . She plays so beautifully . And Csardas by Monti is a favorite piece for me as well. A goal I wish I might be able to achieve one day .

Elke , La Cinquantaine is  a wonderful piece to work on . Looks a bit  difficult in the beginning but I have played it a few times and  I love it . I am sure it needs lot of improvement but I am glad at least I can play it.

That is alright Elke...

Are you doing the Oscar R?

On your description w/c I have just read after listening to her, it did not occur to me that she was playing 1/4 size violin and not 3/4---as you said her sound/tone was so full and rich-Amazing...

Maria, I had to recreate the entry - just noticed that the embedding settings were wrong and took everything out of the screen. Sorry, your answer got lost that way.

In answer to your question: NO, I definitely am A LONG WAY from even attempting this piece!! Just play it in Youtube at 25% of the speed and you know what it would sound like if I tried it...

But Leila was the one that inspired me to my piece that I am practicing for the masterclass :). It is one she posted a year ago.
