Hello dear violinists, I'm Ayoub, and I've been playing the violin for four months now, i would like to know how can i improve my playing, one the things i have noticed in my bow arm is some sort of stiffness in the wrist, my bow strokes seem kind of robotic, i would appreciate the help if you could tell me some exercises to make the bow stroke more smooth, any other advice's will be appreciated, thank you https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B71G-TQjDNw1aEtzckcyNEdBRzJsM194RHNmLVE2X3dBV2V3 p.s. Ayoub, are you aware that Beth posted a whole video on the first movement of the Rieding concert not very long ago? That should be very helpful also. |

I thought that was wonderful! Shame on your house mates for complaining about your playing! I do think you should also use the lower half of your bow though ;) But basically i think you are off to a great start. |

Ayoub, welcome to Violin Lab! I will leave the advice and critics to the ones who are more advanced than me but I wanted to tell you that I'm impressed with your long straight bows! Your intonation is excellent and I love the tone! You're off to a great start! Congratulations! |
