I keep accidentally hitting the D string when I am playing on the A string. I've tried lowering my arm but it still keeps happening. Any advice will be appreciated. 1 Responses Posted: March 14, 2010 Last Comment: March 24, 2010 |

I call your second point--lazy geometry of bowing, though lazy is misleading. Consequently, I try and focus on my plane of bowing with strict geometry routinely in an etude spirit.
The first point(the arch v. fingerboard) is new to me. Great stuff, and a reason I like what you do so much.
Finally, sometimes when I flow with the instrument, the actual angle of the instrument can shift ever so slightly, changing the geometry, thus double-pings on the strings. I can't remember right off who it was that shows that the instrument flows as well on the shoulder within reason a few degrees up and down for flow and reach--seems like it was stern for some reason in his documentary, "From Mao to Mozart". |
