This discussion includes members-only video content During this time of isolation we must not forget we live in a Wonderful World. So, I thought I'd play a song that express the wonder of this world we live. I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself what a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They're really saying I love you I hear babies crying, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll never know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world Gregory Gillis 10 Responses Posted: March 29, 2020 Last Comment: March 30, 2020 |

Well done Gregory. I am still going to work, hours cut, during this trying time. Music definitely gets me through rough times. |

Thanks Timothy for your compliments. You query why I find benefit in this training site. Well, I have had 2 private teachers. Both had their strengths but, in my humble opinion, Beth is outstanding. I joined this community last Aug. I had not played in a long time. My playing was wretched. I’ve corrected many issues but there is still much I need to fix (like straightening my bow stroke with consistent sounding point). I like the way Beth approach the art of playing violin. I have lots to learn. |

Gregory the world is a little better because you are in it. Thanks for sharing this. I sort of have to wonder why you need a violin training site. I think you should probably be giving lessons instead. Even though this old world is fallen it is still wonderful in so many ways. You picked a wonderful tune to play, a song that gives reason for optimism. |

I am amazed how comfortable and relaxed you are in your playing! Most inspiring! Unique musical expression... you certainly make this song your own! |

Thanks for taking a moment to hear my heart in this time of despair. I always try to see the bright side of life events. This Covid-19 virus is testing me. I thank God for blessing me with music & this community. Beth every note I played is written. In my younger days I was able to improvise, not so much now. I found the music on Tomplay. Stay safe everyone. Allow music to take your focus from destruction, create some love through music. |

Beautiful, Gregory! Are you playing by ear and improvising the ornaments? |
